Description

No. 15, St John’s Street is a pair of late 18th-century houses, now combined into a single dwelling, located in Malmesbury. The houses are constructed of limestone rubble, with roughcast to the front, quoins, brick gable stacks, and a front stone slate roof, with double Roman tiles at the rear. They have a two-room plan set at right angles to the street, and are two storeys and an attic in height, with a single-window range. A doorway is positioned on the right-hand side, with a 20th-century door. The doorway to the former right-hand house has been blocked. Windows have cambered heads. The rear elevation features concrete lintels to 20th-century casement windows, and two gabled dormers. The interior is largely from the mid 20th century but retains a 18th-century collar truss roof with tenoned purlins.
