Description
Middle Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1710, as indicated by the datestone above the door, and it was altered in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with gable end brick stacks and coped verges. It is two stories high with a four-window south front. The entrance consists of a planked door set in a chamfered stone case, above which is a stone tablet with an incised date and scrolled decoration. To the left of the door is a 20th-century casement window, and to the right is a 12-pane sash window. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window, a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement, and another 12-pane sash window, along with several blocked mullioned windows. To the right, there is a 19th-century two-story addition featuring a planked door and a two-light casement. The left side of the building has a 20th-century casement on the ground floor. At the rear, there are two three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements on the ground floor and three-light casements on the first floor, along with a lean-to extension on the right. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in November 1985.
