Description

The furnishings of the tea garden at Heale House date from the 19th century or earlier, with construction around 1900. They are made of granite and include three main features: (a) a tall toto, which is a round pillar with an octagonal base and a lantern; the alternate sides are carved, and it has a curled roof topped with a ball and point finial; (b) a snow-scene toto-kasuga that stands on four arched legs, featuring a wide hipped roof and an open lantern; and (c) a smaller toto-kasuga that has a similar design. These items are of group value as essential furnishings for a tea garden.
