Description
This is a two-story terrace of 1824, originally numbered 3 to 9 St George’s Terrace. The buildings are set back from the road by front gardens with paths leading to the front doors. The terrace is constructed of small ashlar and features a cornice and parapet that sweeps upwards twice. The windows have plain, flush surrounds, with two windows to each house on the first floor. The first floor windows are casements, except at number 30, where they are sash windows. Plate glass windows are present at numbers 31 to 35, while numbers 29 and the ground floor of number 30 retain glazing bars. The doorways have stone surrounds with a recessed inner edge and contain six-panel doors, with raised and fielded panels; the lower panels on doors 29 to 32 feature circles in the corners. Fanlights with a diamond pattern are retained at numbers 30, 31, 34, and 35. There are seven chimneys, four of which are ashlar. The roofs are slate. The garden walls, railings, and gate piers relating to numbers 28 to 35 contribute to the group value of the area.
