Description

Hazeland Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 17th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of rubble stone, with some timber-frame and red brick elements. The building features thatched roofs, with a brick ridge stack located at the original west end. The farmhouse is one and a half storeys high, with a two-storey rear wing.

The front range includes two 19th-century brick dormer gables that have pairs of casement windows above a main wall of rubble stone. There is also a triple casement window and a small canted bay from the 19th century. To the left, there is a 19th-century brick porch with a plain-tiled roof, although the door has been converted into a window. To the right, there is a timber-framed and red brick range, with the east end wall clad in stone and featuring brick quoins from the 19th century.

Slightly set back to the left is an ironstone rubble range, possibly from the 18th century, which has triple casement windows on each floor and a door to the right. At the rear northwest angle of the main house, the base of a large full cruck beam is visible. The large two-storey rear wing, possibly from the 17th century, is also made of rubble stone and features triple casement windows on each floor facing east.
