Description
Cockhill House is an early 19th-century building, first rated in 1812. It stands two storeys tall and is constructed of Bath stone. The house features a projecting plinth and a string course at the first-floor level, along with a small moulded cornice and a parapet. The roofs are hipped and covered with slate, and there is a slight central break on the southeast front.
On the first floor, there are three windows, while the ground floor has two, all of which are plate glass sashes set in recessed overarches. The central door is adorned with a traceried fanlight and is framed by a Doric porch supported by two columns, with wall pilasters, an entablature featuring an incised pattern on the frieze, and a blocking course above. To the left, there is a lower two-storey wing with one window. The northeast front facing the road has two windows set in arched recesses.
