Description
Applegarth is a building dating from the 18th century or early 19th century, located on the south-east side of Westbury Leigh. It is two storeys high and constructed of brick, featuring a stone band at ground floor level and a stone string at the first floor level. The building has chamfered stone quoins and a moulded stone cornice, topped with a brick parapet and stone coping. The roof is slate.
On the first floor, there are three late glazed sash windows with plain stone surrounds. The ground floor has two larger similar windows, each four panes wide, alongside a central six-panel flush door that includes an arched radiating fanlight in a plain stone surround. Applegarth is set back from the road, with a brick retaining wall featuring concrete coping. There is an entrance to the left in a curved recess, marked by square brick piers and a plain early 19th-century cast iron gate with mushroom tops on the rails and dog rails. A wide car entry drive is located to the right.
