Description

This is an 18th-century building, though with earlier elements, located at 9 and 11 St Nicholas's Road. It is two storeys high, facing the river. The building incorporates a red brick construction partially built upon a stone bastion wall belonging to the bridge. The second floor has a new tile hanging. The roof is slate, with a low pitch and hipped form. The riverside elevation features irregular sash windows, some recessed and some set within flush architrave frames. The building is two storeys high on the side facing the bridge and the road. The first floor is tile-hung with two windows in flush architrave frames, and there are two ground-floor windows flanking a modern glazed door recessed within a deep panelled reveal. A renewed doorcase features a panelled plaster cornice and a pediment. Nos 7 to 11 (odd) create a group with Nos 16 and 18.
