Description

The Dovecote, located in the grounds to the west of Riverside House, is a cottage dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone tile roof with an ashlar stack at the east end. The building is one storey high with an attic and has a one-room plan. On the south wall, there is a small 2-light flush hollow-moulded mullion window with a dripstone above it. The east end has a door, a 20th-century window with an original timber lintel in the attic, and dove openings above. Inside, there is a stone fireplace at the east end with a flat lintel and quadrant corners. Additionally, there is a rear lean-to that includes a moulded timber doorcase.
