Description

A pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the early 19th century, built for the Longleat Estate. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble stone with brick dressings, and have a tiled roof with brick stacks. They are two storeys high, with a four-window arrangement. A planked door is set within a gabled stone porch on the right-hand side of No. 3, while a 20th-century brick porch is positioned on the left-hand side of No. 2. The ground floor features 16-pane segmental-headed sash windows either side of each porch. The first floor has four matching 16-pane sashes. A 20th-century single-storey extension has been added to the left side of No. 2. These cottages represent a largely unaltered example of estate building within the parish.
