Description

The Cox monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 7 metres north of the nave of the Church of St. John. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a plinth and has two recessed panels on the main sides, along with corner and central pilasters that have sunk panels and rosettes. It is topped with a cornice and a panelled frieze, also adorned with rosettes, and has a moulded flat top. The monument commemorates William Cox, who died in 1739.
