Description

The Pegler and Fry monuments are two chest tombs located in the churchyard about 22 meters west of the tower of All Saints Church. They date from the early 19th century and are made of ashlar stone.

The first monument is to Benjamin Pegler and is surrounded by spearhead iron railings. It features baluster angles, slab sides, and two plaques on each side with rebated angles. The tomb is topped with a two-step ridged capstone and includes an inscription noting that Benjamin Pegler died in 1829.

The second monument is dedicated to J. Fry and is situated about 2 meters north-west of the Pegler monument. It has a moulded base and capstone, rectangular side plaques, and flat baluster angles. The inscriptions commemorate Joseph Fry, who died in 1831, and Thomas Hopkins, who died in 1860.
