Description

The Fryer monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 4 metres north-east of the north porch of the Church of St. Lawrence. It dates from 1770 and is made of sandstone. The tomb is rectangular with moulded ends and features raised oval inscription panels adorned with foliage branches above. There are large raised circular inscription panels on the sides, set against a corduroy-tooled backing. The monument has a moulded top and plinth and is inscribed to various members of the Fryer family.
