Description

The enclosure bollards around the Ailesbury Column date back to the 18th century. These marker bollards are positioned on three sides of the clearing that contains the Ailesbury Column. They are made of sarsen stone and feature cast iron balls that once held chains. The bollards are set at approximately 7 meters apart. It is noted that the iron balls are missing from the bollards on the south-west side.
