Description

Wharf House is a house dating to approximately 1830. It is constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with a slate roof. The main part of the house is two storeys high and has three bays. The house extends to the east in an ā€˜L’ shape, creating a two-bay elevation facing the road. The central entrance features a four-panelled door with a margin-glazed overlight. The ground floor windows are nine-paned single-hung sashes with gauged brick lintels, while the first-floor windows are six-pane sashes. The roof is hipped on the right-hand side where it returns to the rear wing. There is a gable stack on the left and a single-storey outbuilding with a tiled roof and gable stack is attached. A later 19th-century porch with shaped bargeboards has been added to the centre of the east-facing return elevation.
