Description
The Coach and Horses Public House is a building located on Winchester Street, dating from the 15th or 16th century, with a 20th-century reproduction timber frame front. The building features gables over the side windows and a window in the center above the archway. The ground floor is infilled with brick, while the upper section is plastered. It has an old tiled roof. Inside, there are exposed moulded beams in the passage roof and framing in the earlier rear wall. The two-bay west range facing the street reveals two of three visible trusses, which include a partition, collar, purlins, and curved windbraces. A large chamfered ceiling beam is present on the ground floor. The Coach and Horses Public House, along with Nos 31 to 37 (odd), forms a group.
