Description
No. 37 on Winchester Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three stories tall and is constructed of painted brick with slate hung sides. It features a low-pitched hipped slate roof and a moulded bed at the eaves. On the first floor, there are two recessed sash windows with later glazing. The first floor also includes a centrally located canted bay window with sash glazing bar lights, which has four panes in the front, pilasters dividing the sections, and a plain apron, frieze, and moulded cornice. The shop front, dating from the mid-19th century, is plain and has a cornice that is concealed by a blind case. To the left, there is a door with four fielded panels that serves as the entrance to No. 20. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 31 to 37 (odd) and the Coach and Horses Public House.
