Description
The London Road Inn is a building that dates from the 16th to 17th century and has been altered over time. It is a single storey and attic structure made of timber framing and colourwashed brick, topped with a steeply pitched gable end tiled roof. The building features three gabled dormers and has two paired sash windows on the ground floor to the right, with a single sash window to the left. There is a later 19th-century partly glazed door set within an architrave surround, topped by a modern pent tiled hood.
Attached to the original structure is an early to mid-19th-century extension that is two storeys high, also made of colourwashed brick. This extension has a low-pitched gable end slate roof with overhanging eaves and features two flush framed sash windows on both floors. The door on the right side has four panels, two of which are glazed.
At the rear of the original part, there is an 18th-century wing that is two storeys tall, constructed with brick and topped with a gable end tiled roof. This wing includes one three-light casement window and double doors on the ground floor. Inside the building, parts of the timber frame are exposed, showcasing wall posts, a tie beam, and part of the trusses.
