Description
Upper Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century and 19th century, which was restored in 1988. It is built of flint with brick lacings and has been refronted in flint with limestone chequerwork, featuring limestone quoins. The roof is made of late 20th century concrete tiles. The building has two storeys, attics, and a cellar, and it consists of three bays with two parallel blocks; the rear block was likely added in the early 19th century. There is a plinth and a half-glazed door with a late 20th century glazed porch. The ground floor has tripartite windows set in openings with brick arches and stone keyblocks, and bullnosed brick sills. The first floor has four-paned sash windows. The eaves are cogged, and there are two gabled dormers. The rear block extends by one bay beyond the gable of the front block on the north side. The interior has some old, chamfered beams, and the front range features a steeply-pitched roof with collared principal rafter trusses.
