Description
East End Manor is a farmhouse dating from the 15th century, with alterations made in the early 17th century. It is constructed of flint with stone quoins, brick dressings around the openings, and has a tiled roof. The building consists of two storeys and two bays, with a two-bay cross wing to the right. A boarded door is situated at the junction of the cross wing and is sheltered by a supported timber canopy. The ground floor has four-light windows, while the upper floor has three-light timber casements from the 19th century. The roof is hipped, and each block has a central brick stack. The gable of the cross wing features a stone inscription reading "AT/1610/A”.
The main range’s interior is a two-bay hall from the 15th or early 16th century, likely originally timber-framed, featuring braces to the tie-beams. A large inserted fireplace with an oven is present. The cross wing contains a large parlour to the rear, with cross beams that have ogee and hollow chamfer moulding. A stone fireplace with a Tudor arch and blind spandrels is found within. A plainer fireplace is in the front room, which includes a chamfered spine beam with ogee stops, likely dating from the 18th century. A stone fireplace is also located in the chamber on the first floor.
