Description
Manor Farmhouse is a mid-17th century farmhouse, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is constructed of English bond brick and has a Bridgwater tiled roof, with gable end brick stacks and coped verge to the right. The house presents a gable end to the road and has a two-storey, four-window front. A six-panelled door is located within a gabled porch to the right of centre; there are two recessed cyma-mullioned casements with hoodmolds to the right, and a rebuilt left-hand bay with a three-light casement. The first floor has a three-light casement to the left, a two-light casement, and two three-light ovolo-mullioned casements to the right. The left return is of rubble stone and has a single-light ground floor casement, and two 19th-century two-light ovolo-mullioned sashes to the first floor. A 19th-century brick wing extends to the rear right and features ovolo-mullioned sashes. An 18th-century rubble stone wing is situated to the left, and has casements and a half-hipped roof. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey in February 1987. It is likely that the farmhouse was originally a five-bay 17th century house, with the left two bays rebuilt in the 18th century, and a rear wing added in the 19th century. The group value is that it contributes to the character of the area.
