4/57 Church Farmhouse

GV II

Detached house. Late C18, with heightening of east wing in C19. Flemish bond brick, tiled hipped roof with brick stacks. L-plan. 2-storey, 3-window front refaced in C19. Central door with 6 panels, 4-pane sash with flat arch to left and right. First floor has three 6-pane sashes, dentilled eaves. Left return has C20 door to ground floor and single casement to first floor. East wing to left has flint and brick banding to ground floor and planked door to left with 3-light casement under segmental head, first floor is English bond brick with dentilled eaves and one 16-pane sash. Right return has one tripartite 4-pane sash to ground floor and casement to first. Rear has C20 porch and 4-pane sashes, first floor has five sashes. Interior not accessible, RCHM recorded chamfered beams with step and concave stops and some reused C17 oak panelled doors, mostly C19 fittings. (Unpublished records of RCHM (England), Salisbury).
