Description
Bridge House is a detached house built in the mid-18th century and enlarged and remodeled in the early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and tiled roofs, with a brick stack located on the right side. The house is two stories tall and has a five-window front. The six-panelled door, which is part of the 19th-century addition, is set in a round-arched reeded case adorned with paterae and a fanlight. To the right of the door are two 16-pane sash windows with Gothic glazing bars and cambered heads, while the left side, which is from the 18th century, has two 12-pane sashes. On the first floor, there is one 15-pane sash and two 12-pane sashes with Gothic glazing bars on the right, and two 12-pane sashes with segmental heads on the left. The right side features a dentilled eaves cornice, while the left has stepped eaves. The side returns are rendered, with one sash window on the right. At the rear, there is an 18th-century outshut on the right with a 20th-century dormer and sashes, and a 19th-century range on the left that includes a ground floor casement and glazed door, along with a round-arched window featuring interlaced glazing bars on the first floor. The 19th-century range has a two-span roof. Inside, the house contains early 19th-century fittings, including six-panelled doors with reeded surrounds, a reeded ceiling frieze, and newel stairs.
