Description

This is a terrace of twelve houses located on Marlborough High Street, dating from the 1830s, with alterations made in the late 19th century. The houses are constructed of rendered cob, although number 60 has been refronted in red brick with yellow brick detailing. They have Welsh slate hipped roofs and brick axial stacks.

The terrace is two and three storeys tall, comprising six bays, with the central section three storeys high and the wings two storeys. Originally, the terrace featured pairs of houses with paired doorways, each framed by castellated architraves, and sash windows. Blind windows were incorporated into the centre of the first and second floors. In the late 19th century, most of the ground floor windows and two of the first floor windows were replaced with canted bay windows. Numbers 62 and 64 have shop fronts dating from the late 19th century; number 64 is on a corner and includes inserted sash windows. The houses have panelled and glazed doors. The interiors have not been inspected.
