Description
Woodrow House Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on Woodrow Road, Melksham Without. The farmhouse is constructed of rubblestone with a double Roman tiled roof featuring coped verges and saddlestones. It has a central stone stack and a T-plan layout.
The two-storey farmhouse has two windows on the front elevation. A pair of central doors is present, with the right-hand door blocked and a chamfered door case to the left, sheltered by a canopied porch supported by wrought iron. To the left of the doors is a four-light cyma mullioned window, and to the right is a three-light cyma mullioned window. A plat band runs along the front, above which are two further three-light cyma mullioned windows on the first floor. A two-storey shed extension projects to the right, incorporating two casement windows and a single two-light cyma mullioned window on the ground floor. A brick extension from the early 20th century is located to the rear, with a half-hipped tiled roof, and it adjoins a late 18th-century rubble wing, which itself features a two-storey section with a sash window in a moulded case on the first floor. The interior of the farmhouse was not inspected. It is believed the building was originally constructed as two cottages.
