Description

Blackmore House is a late 18th-century farmhouse, now a house. It is constructed of rendered brick and rubblestone, with a concrete tiled half-hipped roof and brick stacks. The building is two storeys high with a four-window front. The ground floor windows are sash windows, with one 12-pane window, two 16-pane windows, and one paired 12-pane window, all in plain cases with a central mullion. The first floor windows are four paired 12-pane sash windows in plain cases with a central mullion. The rear entrance door has a chamfered door-case and a flat stone hood supported by brackets; the windows on the rear elevation are similar to those on the front. The interior contains two staircases dating from the 19th century. According to local accounts, the house was historically used for weaving.
