Description

No. 38 Church Road is a cottage from the early 19th century, part of the Bowood estate. It is built from squared rubble stone and features Bridgwater tiled eaves and two octagonal ridge stacks. The cottage has a single storey and an attic, designed in the Tudor style. It has flush quoins and cyma-moulded flush stone mullion windows with two lights on the front. To the left, there is one window in the eaves breaking the dormer gable, and on the ground floor, there are two windows with hoodmoulds on either side of a central door set in a timbered gabled porch. The west end wall includes a three-light window with a hoodmould above a canted stone-slated bay with a 1-3-1 light arrangement. The windows are fitted with leaded lights.
