Description
This Georgian cottage, dating from the early 19th century, is located at No. 4 Kingsbury Square. It is two storeys high and stands on a prominent plinth. The building is constructed of brick, featuring a chequered pattern on the first floor. It has flat eaves supported by paired brackets at the front and a hipped slate roof with two tall chimneys that have cogged capping. Originally, it was two separate cottages.
The cottage has three windows on the first floor, which are panel-cross glazed sashes with flush moulded frames. On the ground floor to the left, there is an early 19th-century bow window with four panes by eight panes. This is flanked by two plate glass sash windows, alternating with doorcases. The left-hand doorcase features panelled pilasters supporting a board pediment that now displays a cherub's head, along with a four-panel door and a narrow overlight. To the right, the doorcase is similar but has a plain surround. The ground floor brickwork shows considerable disturbance, and the front path is laid with red and black Victorian quarry tiles.
