Description

This is an 18th-century terrace of six houses, numbered 6 to 12 Fore Street, Westbury, and altered over time. The building continues from numbers 2 and 4. It has an old tile roof with brick ridge chimneys. The front is rendered with pebbledash on a rendered plinth. The window arrangement has been modified, featuring a single range of windows per house, although number 12 has three windows on the first floor. Number 6 has paired plate glass sashes. Number 8 has early 20th-century windows with cement mullions and lintels, also plate glass sashes. Number 10 has modern, three-light metal casements. Number 12 has late-glazed sashes on the first floor, and one original tripartite window on the ground floor with a central, late-glazed sash. All the houses have 6-panel doors, except for number 10. Stone flat hoods are supported by cut stone brackets, with number 6 having a moulded hood, and numbers 8 and 10 featuring paired brackets. A late 19th-century shop front with a recessed central entrance is present on number 8.
