Description
Beechwood is a late 18th-century house, altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar. The house has a double-fronted design with two mid-19th century, two-storey, five-light square bays. A central, slightly projecting porch features pilastered blocking courses and a round-headed doorway. A first-floor cill band, cornice and parapet run along the top of the front elevation. The roof is a slate mansard roof with coped verges and two dormers. The windows are sash windows, containing glazing likely dating to around 1870, with small, multi-paned upper sashes. Stone surrounds windows at the rear, which has a catslide roof. The house forms a group with West Croft and numbers 1 and 2 Waldron’s Square, in British Row, on the north side of Conigre.
