Description

Pit Cottage is a 17th-century cottage constructed from whitewashed stone, brick, and blockwork, topped with a thatched roof. The building is one storey with an attic and consists of three bays, featuring a lean-to on the left side. The original structure has two bays with a symmetrical facade and gable stacks, while the third bay was added on the right. It has boarded doors set in heavy frames and wood windows with 4, 6, and 9 panes. The thatch extends over two dormers at the front and one at the rear. The cottage has seen little alteration since the 20th century.
