Description
Nos 28 and 30 on West End are a pair of buildings that include the former 'Wheatsheaf' Inn, dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, and have been altered over time. They are brick-built and stand two storeys high, with a rendered exterior. The roof is made of pantiles and is half-hipped to the left. There are two brick chimneys located externally on the left side.
The first floor features two windows for No 28 and three paired windows for No 30, all of which are late glazed sashes with flush moulded frames. On the ground floor, there are three paired windows for No 28 and one large modern three-light casement to the right of No 30. No 28 has a central doorway topped with a wooden hood, while No 30 has a pentise tiled roof over its doorway and a window to the left, along with a moulded plinth, tiles, and panelled piers, indicating it was once a butcher's shop. The roof structure is made with solid oak timbers.
