Description
Nos 8 and 9 on St Margaret's Street is an early 19th-century building constructed from ashlar with a slate roof and a moulded stone eaves cornice. It is two stories tall and features four windows, with sash windows set in reveals and glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor has a later sash window on the left, a central panelled door, a plate glass shop window to the right, and a plain door further to the right. The ground floor is rusticated, with grooved pilasters at both ends and on each side of the central door, which rise into the first floor as panelled pilasters. This building is part of a group that includes The Three Horseshoes and Nos 1 to 4 on Frome Road, along with the Liberal Club, The Baptist Chapel, the Congregational Church and Hall, and several other properties on St Margaret's Street and St Margaret's Hill.
