Description
44 St Margaret's Street is an 18th-century building constructed of ashlar stone with a stone-tiled roof. It features eaves with three hipped dormers and casement windows with glazing bars. The building has two storeys and a basement, with a total of five windows that are sashes surrounded by architraves. The ground floor windows have cambered heads, keystones, and flat cornices. The central doorway also has a cambered head and an architrave surround, with steps leading up to a six-panelled door topped by a fanlight. The building is accented by angle pilasters and a plinth course, and there are three paired mullioned windows in the basement. This property is part of a group that includes The Three Horseshoes and Nos 1 to 4 Frome Road, along with the Liberal Club, The Baptist Chapel, the Congregational Church and Hall, and several other nearby buildings.
