Description
Eagle Chinese Restaurant is a house that dates from the late 1830s to early 1840s and is one of a pair with Torre Cottage on Brunswick Square. The building has a plastered exterior and a gabled slate roof, with stacks that have rendered shafts and brick bands. The main range is single-depth and two rooms wide, with services located in a rear wing that is at right angles to the main structure.
The exterior features two storeys and a symmetrical three-bay front. It has a gabled glazed porch hood with a dentil frieze supported by shaped timber brackets. The front door, which is from the 20th century, has small panes and a plain overlight. There are three 16-pane sash windows on the first floor and two high transomed casements with margin panes on the ground floor. All the windows are adorned with cornices that have dentil friezes. The interior has not been inspected but may contain interesting features.
