Description
The Emily Taylor memorial, located approximately 25 metres north of the Parish Church of St Mary, was created in 1900 by B. Mackennel of London, whose signature is present. This memorial is made of white Italian marble and features a large freestanding tablet set on a series of steps with a shaped plinth. The tablet displays a relief portrait profile of Emily Taylor framed within the marble. To the left, the tablet is draped with a carved marble cloth, while to the right, there is a three-quarters size figure of a slender mourning girl leaning against the tablet. The inscription commemorates Emily Taylor, who passed away in 1898.
