SX8861 TORQUAY ROAD 1947-1/4/110 (West side) Lamp standard immediately W of courtyard archway at Oldway Mansion

GV II

Lamp standard. Probably 1904-1907, contemporary with the remodelling of Oldway for Paris Singer. Cast-concrete and cast-iron. Lamp designed to light path to the entrance to the courtyard to Oldway. Moulded base, round on plan, with heavy projecting toothed moulding above. Cast-iron lamp standard with fluted decoration and bead moulding. Included for group value with Oldway Mansion and other listed items in the grounds, which were developed in 1904-1907.
