Description

This is a mid-18th century building, now part of the Saracen’s Head Hotel. The building is constructed of brick on a chamfered plinth. The two left-hand bays have been altered, while the two right-hand bays are notable for their purple brick with red brick dressings and a four-course rubbed brick band above the ground floor. It has a slate roof with a coved eaves cornice. The building is two storeys high with an attic, featuring two gabled dormers. It originally had four windows, with glazing bar sashes featuring segmental heads. The ground floor shop window has been replaced by two matching windows and a glazed door; only the right-hand window is original. The attic contains posts that support a valley roof with braces.
