Description

48 High Street is a building dating from the 17th century to early 18th century, with later alterations in the 19th century and more recent modifications. It stands two and a half storeys high, constructed of rubble with ashlar quoins on the left side. The windows feature brick quoined dressing, arranged in two ranges, with segmental heads on the ground floor. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and has two large modern dormers that are not in keeping with the building's character. There is also a range of windows in the gable end. This building is included for its group value.
