Description
The Goddard Arms Hotel is a hostelry dating from the 18th to 19th century. It features diaper brickwork and a stone-slated mansard roof. The building is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of six bays, with the entrance located in the fifth bay. It is two rooms deep and has gable stacks as well as additional stacks positioned between the second and third bays, and the fourth and fifth bays. At the rear, there is a long central wing made of stone that rises three storeys. The entrance is marked by a fluted Tuscan portico, which has a half oval radial fanlight above a glazed door flanked by sidelights, and an inner pair of doors with etched glass. The hotel has nine windows that are two-pane sashes. The interior has been refurbished in the 20th century and is not considered to be of special interest.
