Description

No. 2 High Street is a shop building from the early 19th century, although it features a datestone from 1708, suggesting that parts of the structure may date back to that time. The exterior is rendered with a false ashlar finish and has a slate roof. The building is three stories high, with two bays facing High Street and a four-bay return to Wood Street. The ground floor has a projecting shopfront on High Street, while the first floor features six-pane sash windows. The second floor has casement windows. On Wood Street, there is a 19th-century shopfront that includes leaf motifs in the top angles of the vertical lights, along with a splayed recessed entrance.
