Description

The Witcombe monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 7 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. James. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a moulded, hipped slab with corner balusters, plain sides and ends that include inscriptions, and a heavy moulded base with a plinth. It commemorates Nathaniel Witcombe, who died in 1796.
