Description
The gate pier and approximately 100 yards of retaining wall to the road below Willsbridge Castle date from the mid to late 19th century. The massive wall, constructed of pennant rubble, supports the terrace at the entrance front of Willsbridge Castle and extends southeast with a 25-yard crenellated section that blends into the hillside. The main section features irregular openings with railings, creating an unusual appearance of crenellation when viewed from below. At the northeast end, there is a pier at the road entrance topped with a corniced capping.
