Description
This description covers a pair of barns and a detached labourers' bothy located at the west end of Ashwicke Home Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of rubble with freestone dressings. The north barn features a Cotswold stone slate roof and has a lean-to under a catslide roof on the right side, along with a central covered way. It is two storeys high on the left, with two casement windows, although the interior has been altered. The west barn has a gabled projecting porch that includes a pigeon loft, and there are three blocked cartshed entries to the left, which have segmental heads, keystones, and columns. This barn consists of six bays and has a 20th-century collar beam roof, with a circular pitching eye on the rear elevation. At the south end of the west barn, there is a detached farm labourers' bothy, which features a single casement window and a plank door.
