MARSHFIELD C.P. HIGH STREET (north side) ST 7773 13/113 Walls and archway to the front of The Almshouses G.V. II*

Walls and central gateway. 1612-1619, partly restored C20. Low rubble saddleback walls with roll moulded ridge. Central ashlar gateway; the saddleback and roll moulding continues up to sides and across the top of the gateway. Segmental head and ovolo moulded surround to the opening; plank door of 1965. In a very important setting as the first item in the village street.
