Description
This barn, located about 4 metres east of Lydegreen Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations over time. It is constructed of rubble with a double Roman tiled roof. The south elevation features a central cart entry flanked by a buttress on the left side. There are two small gables, each equipped with a loading door that has a timber lintel, and a blocked door with a timber lintel on the right. The right return of the barn includes an owlhole in the gable end, while the left return has a heavy timber lintel from a former entry. The rear of the barn mirrors the front with two gables, each having a blocked loading door, and three blocked doors with timber lintels, two of which on the right have glass insertions at the upper level. There are 20th-century additions on the left front and right sides, which are single storey. The interior was not inspected, and the barn was noted to be in poor condition at the time of the survey in October 1984.
