Description
The White Lion is a building that underwent remodelling in the 18th century, originally constructed in the mid-17th century. It has a rendered exterior and a slate roof, standing two storeys tall. The facade features three windows, along with an additional window in a projecting wing to the south, which has a half-hipped roof. The windows are a mix of 2-light casements and glazing bar sashes, with bays on the ground floor and one bay extending two storeys to the right of a four-panel door. A projecting Doric porch is adorned with a large cast-iron lion above it. Inside, there are stop-chamfered beams, including one double ovolo moulded beam, and one ovolo moulded mullion remains in the south elevation. Additionally, there are two impressive twisted baluster staircases with ball finials, which date from the 17th or early 18th century.
