Description

The Nichols monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 4 metres west of the north aisle of the Church of St. Peter. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and quarter balusters. Inscriptions are present on the north and south sides, accompanied by paired shaped cartouches and a central putto on the north side. It commemorates George Nichols, who died in 1771, along with other family members.
