Description
This structure consists of four gate piers and railings that create a screen between the west elevation of the Orangery and the east elevation of the Stable Block at Dyrham Park. Dating from the early 19th century, the gate piers are made of rusticated limestone ashlar, limestone, and cast iron. Each square pier features a plinth and stands about 4 meters high with rusticated ashlar. The piers have flat tops with a moulded edge, each topped with a fluted urn on a plinth and a ball finial. The central piers include spear-headed railing gates, with a similar screen between two piers to the right and a smaller gate between two piers to the left. There is also a smaller screen between the left pier and the Stable Block.
