Description
The bridge over Siston Brook, along with approximately 100 yards of wharf retaining wall and steps immediately south of the bridge at Londonderry Wharf, is a notable structure. It is one of the termini of the Avon and Gloucester Tramway, which opened in 1835. The bridge likely dates back to the 1720s and is constructed of rubble with ashlar voussoirs and a keystone, featuring a single arch. There is a band at path level and coping along the top. The structure connects to the wharf to the south, which includes a rubble retaining wall. At the north end, there are stone steps leading down to the water, and the retaining wall is about 25 yards long.
